Do the Angels Need Some Extra Wood?

Welcome to the genesis of the Halos' Hot Corner, as I watch the final two spring training games against the Dodgers, I can't help but wonder how the Angels plan to use Brandon Wood. I would like to see the Angels utilize a promising blue chip prospect, especially since we did not include him in any trade package last season that could have bolstered our offensive lineup.

With departure of Figgy, the Angels need to solidify the hot corner, perhaps by moving Eric to a third base and moving Wood to shortstop which was his natural position when he was coming up. Eric has already proved that he has a defensive glove anywhere on the infield, so why not make it easier by putting a proven player at a position where it has yet to be seen if the hole can be filled, while at the same time making it easier for some who has yet to prove himself to be a legitimate major league player.

In my opinion, it is better to put a young veteran at a position of importance rather than to rely on a promising player to fill the hole that such an important player like Figgy left behind. Well, I think that's all for now I don't want to get too analytical especially since the season has not started yet. I would love to hear your thoughts on subject, until next time.
